Who may enroll in the Independent Learning Center?

• students at ninth grade level or above
• students who are able to pass our reading assessment
• students with child care obligations
• students who must work during traditional school hours
• students who are self-motivated and can learn independently

What kind of diploma will I receive and how long will it take?

Graduation requirements are identical to those of WJUSD comprehensive high school and graduates of the ILC receive a WJUSD High School Diploma. Students work at their own pace and may earn credits at a faster rate than at the traditional high school.

Will the credits earned at the ILC transfer to a traditional high school?

Credits earned at the ILC are transferable to high school programs nationwide. ILC courses have not been evaluated by the state or UC universtiy systems - they may not meet their enrollment requirements.
