Early childhood education has proven to be effective in helping children get off to a good start in school. The WJUSD Child Development Program helps children learn by providing them a print-rich environment filled with books and by exposing them to activities that involve their five senses. We have a warm, friendly environment where our children feel safe, secure and appreciated.
The WJUSD Child Development Department administers various comprehensive programs which are primarily funded through the California Department of Education. These programs provide educational services to income eligible children and their families, teen parents, and to full paying families where applicable.

All programs operate at an elementary school site or the Woodland Adult Education Program. Each program follows the calendar of their school site.

The Woodland Joint Unified School District promotes quality education for children through a curriculum which is developmentally, culturally and linguistically appropriate and which greatly enhances the educational experience of all children prior to entering kindergarten.
The WJUSD Child Development Program does not discriminate on the basis of race, color national origin, religion, sex or disability in providing educational services, activities, or programs. We welcome the enrollment of children with disabilities. We understand the requirement of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) to make reasonable accommodations for such children.
